rmt (real money trading) is a problem in many games, and most devs dont want it because it cuts into their profit. However the only reason im even bringing it up is because people have been selling so many items around me for real dollars. So here are some POSSIBLE ways cubic castles could maybe compromise
Adding a system similar to steams marketplace, where you can put items for sale in dollars via official systems (the item would need to have been in the players inv for atleast 30 days and been cleared via a system similar to uuid, which i explained in one of my posts i did before) and of course the devs would get 40% of the sale. This way devs can get a share of the pie.
the main reason im bringing this up though is because it already happens a lot in this game, but the problem is that its based on trust and most who do it are scammers/hackers. Doing it this way would not only let veterans cash their items out safely, but the devs would also get a lot of money because of it, allowing for them to buy better servers, hire more employees etc.
