WINNERS ANNOUNCED: Christmas Art Contest

Mine's currently a work in progress, should be finished by January

This is the same picture I posted on Discord
It's the CAD for the rocket sled I'm designing based off the one in cc
I'm going to be very honest here the image does not look festive at all. Most of the decorations I do for something like this are irl, I don't bother adding colours to the CAD

No ai was used, everything was thought of, sculpted, painted, sewn, assembled and glued together by me. It’s a wall decoration craft thing made out of air dry clay. The roll is supposed to be a poppy seed roll (makowiec) topped with frosting, poppy seeds and candied orange peels (they are supposed to be square like that) it's always eaten during christmas where I'm from :D The sequins and hats can be removed but i personally prefer the version with them. The two nails are not a part of the craft, i just had to put them there to attach it into the wall 0_0

really creative man, good job. i dont think people realize how painfull it is molding something so i can imagine the pain of messing up e.e

I tried making a 3D model. I used something like Styrofoam and cut it out, then sanded it to shape. Colors were applied using markers. The head, hands, and feet are all detachable! (everything made by me except the plastic container, but i draw on it) I can sleep well now xd

Deadline is up! Any entries past this point will not be eligible.
If there are any entries that needed verification (which I would have requested via DMs well before deadline) but not verified (i.e. participant did not provide verification, or the verification was invalid/fake) will also not be eligible. If I did NOT dm you about verification, you don't have to worry about this :)

Winners will be announced before December 23rd 5:00pm PST. Good luck!

I love the idea here, personally i think it would have been cooler if you made it out of clay but the fact you used 3d printing makes it even cooler. Im kind of a boomer but im guesssing it was hard to make looking off it. My question is what are you gonna do with the container after the contest is over?

🏆WINNERS and THANK YOU!

Thank you all for entering and sharing your creativity with the community! Regardless of whether you won some cubits or not, you created something yourself that you can be proud of and look back on :) so thank you and I hope you continue to be creative and found inspiration amongst all the incredible entries!

With that being said, here are the top 5 winners! I have increased the # of winners as well.

🥇1st place: @red chair - 150,000c. Click me for their entry! (paid)
Absolutely incredible entry. Red chair created a flexible 3D styrofoam Qbee model, and made use of different materials to craft the perfect Cubic Castles winter scene. It feels like I could be in that plastic container and be immersed in a whole winter world! Lots of measuring and accuracy is needed for the modeling, and they also took a lot of care to paint extremely cleanly and precisely. Very, very well done!! Thanks for the awesome entry, red chair!

🥈2nd place: @WhackySlop - 90,000c 100,000c Click me for their entry! (paid)
The warmth and coziness from this entry just invokes happiness, and we all know good art brings emotions out of us. A lot of work needs to be put into sculpting with airdry clay, and then comes the precision of painting on top of your work. WhackySlop did an amazing job with both the sculpting and painting, and on top of that sewn little hats for the Qbees and used other festive materials to perfect the decoration!! Thank you for this incredible entry, Whacky!

🥉3rd place: @Black cat1 - 50,000c Click me for their entry! (paid)
What a cute piece of Christmas art with great attention to lighting and rendering (especially look at the light scatter in the shadows). The choice of colours and composition conveys a winter christmas scene perfectly--the warm and cool tones contrasting perfectly with each other but working together to capture the scene. I feel warm and cold! Thank you Black cat!

🌟 4th place: @Jofus - 35,000c Click me for their entry! (paid)
Jofus' traditional pencil sketch scene has all sorts of things going on - snowball fight, snow angel, krampus jumpscare, someone building a snowman, someone flying away by balloon, and santa dropping gifts. You took the time to lay out so many activities we can do on Christmas and created this awesome pencil illustration with shading. This is an awesome entry!

⭐ 5th place: @poopinmynose - 20,000c Click me for their entry! (paid)
poopinmynose created lots of fun pixel art pieces that are simply fun and happy to look at. They even pulled out the good ol' pencil and did a traditional piece. Through their multiple entries, they aimed to capture a lot of Christmas themes and they all look awesome!! I hope you enjoyed creating them and can be proud of all your work :) Thank you for all your entries and effort, poopin!

BONUS WINNERS:
Couldn't help myself.
🎁 @ufuemete - 10,000c Click me for their entry!
ufuemete created a cute digital christmas Qbee card that you can send to your friends and family! A thoughtful piece and super cute. I like that the Qbee is very happy and has clear personality. Thank you for this considerate card!

🎁 @*mannat* - 10,000c Click me for their entry! (paid)
A cute artwork with a Qbee dancing gracefully in a snow globe. Very creative and looks fantastic! The composition makes this scene really well-balanced. Thank you for this artwork!!

🎁 @Joe - 10,000c Click me for their entry! (paid)
Very heart warming piece. They considered their families and I like that there are bronze piggies at the back haha. Love the variety of present designs, too. Thank you for this piece, Joe!

Wrap up

No one decided to go for the social media participation prize--so no one got them!

I have sent all the winners a friend request. If you did not specify an in-game name, I sent a friend request to your FORUMS name (except for @Joe , who did not specify in-game name but I inferred from your signature that your in-game name is StopShipping). @*mannat* I cannot send you a friend request because the system says it's "invalid", likely due to the asterisks  . Please send me a friend request: IcyTamTam

Thank you all again for the incredible entries. If you're coming across this thread, please take a look at ALL the entries :)

🎄Merry Christmas and happy new year, Qbees!!

Thank you so much! I'll auction off my whole piece in game(jk) I think I’ll most likely store it away after the contest.
Just to clarify, it wasn’t 3D printed. And yes, it was definitely hard to make! For example, during sanding(with sandpaper), I broke an arm, a leg, and the lantern handle… only the leg survived, haha.
